Gidole - an elegant and highly legible typeface

Today’s free resource is an open source typeface called Gidole. Created by Andreas Larsen, a designer & developer from Denmark. The name of the font is inspired by a small mountain close to the place Andreas grew up.

The font is quite readable, it comes in two flavors - san serif and rounded. Being a DIN font (DIN 1451 is a sans-serif typeface that is widely used for traffic, administrative and technical applications. It was defined by the German standards body DIN - Deutsches Institut für Normung (German Institute for Standardization) in the specifications sheet DIN1451-Schriften (typefaces) in 1931. - Wikipedia), it can be successfully used as both as headlines and body text, but because there are no bold or semibold versions of the font, the real life usage scenarios are limited.

However, it can be an excellent choice for logotypes because of its readability and modern looks.
